Birthday Hugs card

Hello guys. Welcome back.

I know its been a while since I’ve posted. I usually create cards every alternate week given my schedule. Although, I might want to frequent it more, as I love making the cards and blogging it too.

I made this card because I really wanted to try out the strip background trend. I first saw it on Jennifer McGuire’s Youtube tutorial. I was so impressed, and since then I have seen countless ways in which people have stepped up that card making trend. Woots for all!

The card that you see has the same strip background, but instead of using plain colors, I decided to use design paper. I think they combined really well and look great on the card. After gluing all the strips, I used Pinkfresh Studio’s essentials Diagonal stitched rectangles to die cut the edges.

The inverted stitched scallop circle die is from Pinkfresh Studio as well, which I cut and glued twice to give a raised look. The letters are from Altenew alpha small case which have been die cut on red glossy paper.

The trick to get the letters to align properly was to keep turing the circle die around, facing straight each time I glued on a letter. I usually am bad at aligning things, and was glad that I didn’t make any mistake here. Phew!

I die cut the Hugs all around die by Concord & 9th on Neenah solar white cardstock and , glued on vellum paper, die cut from Hero Arts Hearts Infinity die set.

Finally I used a blush pink paper from Recollections, Michaels.

The card is for the AAA birthday card challenges blog. This entry is for Game#25 for their 2nd birthday. Big birthday wishes to them!

Hope you liked the card. Do let me know what you think. See you soon 🙂
