Now, here is my second card for this month’s challenge. The stamps are from the Chibi Salty Kisses stamp set and these cute Larvae (baby octopus) was what inspired this card.

The patterned background paper is from Craft Smith Stay magical paper pad. I cut it down to 4 x 5.25 inches and turned it upside down to represent waves. Next, I used Mod Podge Dimensional Magic to highlight a few waves and added some Snowflake Tinsel embossing powder to give some shine. I let is dry overnight and added another layer of the Dimensional Magic so that the embossing powder doesn’t continue to flake and let that dry overnight as well. I also splattered some blue and green paint on the background and let it dry using a heat gun.

While that was drying, I cut out the larvae and painted them in using Arteza Gouache Metallic colors Emerald Green and Lavender for the main body, and Apricot and Bubblegum Pink for the suckers on the arms.

The sentiment “I am Inking About You” was printed and die cut using a stitched square frame. I added 3 more layers to create dimension. After everything had dried, it was ready for assembly.

I put foam stickers behind both the larvae before gluing them to the card. To add another element, I used distress oxide blueprint sketch around the edges. I assembled the entire front of the card on a blue cardstock by Recollections on a 4.25 x 5.5 inches folded notecard on 120 lb. Accent Opaque white cardstock.

I finished the card off with some silver sparkle crystals from Studio Katia.
