Welcome to my blog. Today’s card is a part of the new challenge over at Crafter’s Café challenge sponsored by Digi Doodle. This amazing digi stamp is Ava Shell collector, part of their “Summer and Beach Collection”.
For the card, I went in for a standard slimline card, measuring 3.5 x 8.5 inches.

First, I wanted to create a sand effect, so I tore up a few pieces of vellum by hand to give an uneven look. Then I used Arteza brush pens to color in the four layers. Next, using a Versamark pen, I highlighted the edges where I would like to heat emboss. Using Hero Arts gold and Wow! gold pearl embossing powders, I embossed the edges. Next I layered the vellum pieces and glued them together on the main vellum sheet, again measuring 3.5 x 8.5 inches.

To create the cloud layers, I used Hero Arts scenic stencil, using a palette knife to apply Distress grit-paste translucent. I was initially going to color in the paste after it dried, but I didn’t like the look. So, I took a white cardstock and painted it blue so that it could be seen through the vellum sheet. It gave a soft, yet layered look of the sky.

The digi image was colored in using Arteza brush pens. I fuzzy cut the image and adhered foam at the back to give a raised look. Finally, the sentiment happy is from a scrapbook page from Michaels.

I like to experiment with paper and texture and really love the way this turned out. What do you think? Do leave your comments as I love reading your thoughts and ideas.
Have a great day!
