Waffle Flower – For you Friend Slider card

Hello there!

Thank you for spending a few minutes of your day here. This card has been an overdue one. I had made it for a very sweet and talented crafter friend and it was delivered to her about two weeks ago. Since then I have managed to procrastinate blogging about this card to no end.

So here it is! I hadn’t made a slider card in a while. But, I knew I wanted to knock the socks of my dear friend, so tried to get super innovative and fun with this one.

So, I used four different products from Waffle Flower for this card. First, is the sun rays stencil that I absolutely love. I used fired brick, spiced marmalade and mustard seed distress oxides for the gorgeous background sunrays.

Next, I used the bunnies from the Love You Bunnies stamp set, as well as the flower bouquet and the orange bow. The hat on the other bunny is from the Be Her stamp set. I wanted both the bunnies to represent myself and my friend, and so I thought this way the bunnies could don accessories that I’m sure we would love to carry off. (I joke way too much sometimes! ;)) I used soft watercolors to paint both of them.

The sentiments are from the Caring Hands sentiments stamp set. Interestingly, both of the sentiments are from different blocks of stamps, that I stamped and cut out. I always struggle finding the exact sentiment that I want to use and sometimes don’t end up having it in my stash. That’s why I try to purchase sentiments that have many sayings or words, that way you can end up mix and matching.

All of this is stuck on foam with the slit created in the middle of the bunnies for the flowers going from one bunny to the other. I went totally old school here. I adhered foam pieces that I glued with the long piece of paper attached behind. I left the paper long and then, cut it later to a size where the recipient can pull of the tab for the flower to move.

Lots of explanation. But if you came here just to look at the pretty pictures, I totally get it! Thank you for stopping by either ways. Take care and see you again.
