Hello there!
I never pegged myself to be an early Christmas card maker kind of person, but here we are. I finally made my first in the month of September. Before I go ahead, let me tell you about this fortnight’s challenge over at Penny’s Paper-crafty Challenge. Our wonderful sponsors are Paper Nest Dolls and LeAnn’s World 101 and they are offering digi images of their choice to the winners. So, let’s get started.

For this card I wanted to try a darker blue background, as you’ll know that I usually find it hard to choose dark colors. I used Distress Oxides Faded Jeans and a hint of Chipped Sapphire at the edges. The house stamps are from Pinkfresh Studios’ stamp set Our Home to Yours. I stamped it using my Misti with Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink. I made sure I used a heat gun, as pigment inks are notorious for smudging 😉 Then, I tapped some water using my fan brush to create splatters, reflecting snow.

I printed the Paper Nest Doll image, readying her toys in colors using watercolor paints. I fussy cut the image and adhered it to the front.
Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in Versafine Onyx black and die cut the white cardstock three times to create dimension.

This is a standard A2 size card and the base is the 120 lb. Accent Opaque.
