Happy New Year! Resilience, focus and mindful are my words for 2022. Let’s go!!
Today, we are sharing our new challenge at Clever Dexter, with the theme just apt for this year, Something New. I was super excited when I came to know that Joy Clair Designs is our wonderful sponsor and super excited and delighted to work with these images.

So for me, something new was working with digital images in a different way. My go-to way is to print each image and then coordinate a card. Instead, I placed all the images the way I would want on the screen and make a border of an A2 size card and print it, color it and make a card. So ,I took away the guess work while having the individual images and decided to loop everything when arranging the images for printing. I am sure a lot of you out there already do that (smarty pants ;D), but this was new to me.

This card uses these wonderful flowers from the Modern Duets bundle – I from Joy Clair Designs. As you can see, I printed the set twice, smoosh painted one image while letting the other image stay as is.

I took the smoosh image and cut it down to fit inside the frame. That’s it. I think this card is simple, yet love the elegance of the colors that pop through. I also used the sentiment and propped it up on foam tape to give it a dimension. Lastly, I added splatters of black paint to finish off the card.

I hope you liked the card. What is your something new creation that you would like to try this year? Do share whatever you make, with us here.

Well I’ve never been able to do it, so you are one up on me! Great card, even if it’s digital there is always a lot of thought and effort behind each card.

My comment sounds rude I didn’t mean it that way. I was trying to say badly that some people think digital is easy and no effort and te reverse is true.

Hi Sioban,
Ofc I didn’t think that you were rude. I totally agree, ‘coz honestly I was one of them. I hadn’t used a digital image till until about 7/8 months ago. Initially, I thought it would be a piece of cake to use them. But I realized that a lot of effort has gone in these designs, and using them is so much more different than the regular way.
Also, to your comment that you wouldn’t be able to do what I did – just FYI I used PowerPoint to make the design. I just made a box and placed the flowers the way they looked appealing. I don’t have any other programs, just the basic PPT. Do give it a try, and we are all here to help and encourage each other. I am glad you stopped by and commented.
Hugs,
