Clever Dexter DT – Alex Syberia and Ink Blending

Hello there!

It’s my birthday month and what a fantastic way to kick off our new challenge at Clever Dexter. This month’s theme is “Ink Blending” (yes, go see Kristina Werner videos) and our sponsor is the fabulous (with a new website) Alex Syberia Designs. You can participate and win prizes from them, and believe me you don’t want to miss your chance.

I am sharing the first project of the month where I use this beautiful digi image called Morning Flower. I printed them and colored each image with Faber Castell polychromos. I wanted the colors to match the ink blended background, that goes as: Seedless Preserves, Broken China and Scattered Straw. I splattered some water and white silver ink on the blended background as well.

I die cut the front panel using Hero Arts infinity rectangles dies. I again splattered some black paint around the areas of where I was going to place the flowers. I mounted the three images on foam tape and glued them. I again splattered some subtle silver ink over the flowers.

The sentiment is from Waffle Flower that I stamped using Black Onyx ink and the hearts were stamped with Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink. The embellishments are from Pawsome Stamps and Stampin’ Up.

The Clever Dexter challenge has just begun and you have till the end of the month to participate. My fellow DT members provide inspiration throughout the month to give you ideas. We would love to see your fun, unique ink blending techniques and you can head here to enter your creations for the challenge.
