Christmas in July Joy – PHP

Hello there!

Today I am sharing a card using cardstock from Paper House Productions. I truly cannot express how much I love the quality and style of their cardstocks! They are just the right thickness and sometimes have printed on one side and tags on the other. Super versatile and so much fun to play with.

This card is like a scrapbook layout where I layer multiple elements to make the card. It’s a fairly straightforward card and here are the steps:

  • I use the Colorways cardstock in red plaid as the base. This is a standard A2 size measuring 4.25 x 5.5 inches.
  • Next I prepare the elements. Using any shaped die cut, here I used Pinkfresh Studios Basic Label Frames essential to die cut the word Joy and also a border from this cardstock.
  • On the backside of the same tag, is this wonderful branch-like image that I cut down to 1.5 x 2 inches and then make a banner with my scissors. I also cut a green strip that I adhered to on the top and make a punch hole.
  • Next North Pole deer tag is from this cardstock.
  • Now comes the assembly. I start with the deer tag, then the previous banner tag. Over the banner tag, I adhered the Joy pieces with some foam tape.
  • Using any stamp set, stamp on the empty white space, and to highlight it I added the border that I cut out.
  • Adding 3D stickers is always fun, but sometimes I like to remove the top layer as it gets difficult to mail the card. This is what I did here with the stickers from this sticker set.
  • Lastly, I added a red velvet bow to finish off the card.

This is a great jumping-off point to get into the Christmas cardmaking mode. I hope you enjoyed the card and the process.
