I’m so glad you are here. I want to share this card as a part of our ongoing monthly challenge at Clever Dexter. The theme for this month is “Ink Blending” and our sponsor Alex Syberia Designs has allowed us to play with her digital images as well as offer prizes to our winner. So please don’t forget to join!

The theme ink blending is super fun and versatile. You can do so much with it. For reference, you can check out what my fellow DT members have also made, here.

I chose to do negative and positive ink blending. I have these amazing Arch dies from Ellen Hutson LLC and I decided to make my own stencil with it. This is a trick where you use laminating pouches (which come in varied sizes) and die cut them using your existing dies. I found this trick soooo helpful, that almost all of my shaped dies have been made into stencils, thus stretching my supplies.

I went ahead and used a painters tape to hold the arches together. I used DO Pine Needles and Blueprint Sketch with a heavy hand. After the ink blending was done, I removed all the pieces and softly ran a hand over the negative spaces, as I didn’t want too much white. That’s it.

I printed the Precious flower image and colored in using my polychromos pencils and then fussy cut it. I adhered foam tape and glued it over the ink blended background. I splattered some Arteza metallic gouache paint and let it sit to dry.

The sentiment is from MFT stamps with Nuvo Pearled Pistachio embossing powder on a white strip. the embellishments are from Studio Katia – Royal Purple Crystals and Stampin’ Up – Whale of a Time Sequins.
