Woohoo, it’s another challenge time at Penny’s paper crafty challenge blog and our sponsors, Stamper’s Delights and Dr. Digi’s House of stamps have graciously offered amazing prizes. This time, I ended up making two cards for the challenge, ‘coz, why not?!?
The first image is this adorable Speed Demon, who clearly loves riding her bike. I used paper from My Mind’s Eye paper pad that I bought a couple of years ago from Hobby Lobby. The polka dot frame is die cut from Waffle Flower Ticket Frames die. I also used the bicycle background from the same paper pad and layered it by using three white cardstocks.

The speed demon is colored in using Arteza brush pens. For her glasses, I applied Mod Podge dimensional magic to create a lens look. Then, I fussy cut the image and glued on foam before adhering it to the card.

The die word ‘wonderful’ is from Hero Arts and ‘ride’ letters are from Altenew Simple Alpha die. I don’t always end up having all sorts of colored cardstock, so I use paint sample papers that you get at any local store. It just gives me a variety of colors when I don’t always end up having that. I glued it on two layers of white paper to create more dimension.

The next card is the Patient Pets stamp. For this card, I went slightly old school. The red background is actually painted using Camel watercolor paint 394 Scarlet Lake. I let it air dry.

The second layer is actually made using a kitchen towel roll. I dabbed a few distress oxide pads over the paper napkin, giving blobs of color. Then I turned it over a white cardstock and gently applied water to let the color seep through onto the paper while still maintaining the texture of the paper napkin design. Then, I used a heat gun to dry the paper so that the water wouldn’t spread and spoil the textured look. I die cut the paper using Pinkfresh Studio’s diagonal stitched rectangle.

I colored the image, again with Arteza brush pens. I stamped an additional cat friend in the window from Waffle Flower along with the sentiment Just Waving Hello. I fussy cut the image and glued it over the card, slightly off-center.
