Clever Dexter DT – Fox Love by Stampers Delights

Hello! Today marks a new challenge over at Clever Dexter challenge blog with the theme Hello Spring. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for Spring to spring 😉 And this challenge is just a fun reminder of that. Our sponsor this month is Stampers Delights. So please go ahead and share your spring cards and creations with us. In the meantime, here is some inspiration for you!

I got to play with this lovely Kawaii Spring Fox stamp set from Stampers Delights. I mirrored the fox in my PowerPoint before printing, and I also made one of the foxes slightly smaller. The flowers were also arranged behind the fox images, multiple times. I printed this image two times, one to be used as masking.

I started by coloring the foxes using Faber Castell polychromos. I wanted the fur to be depicted as much as possible (or am I just bad at coloring?!? ;D). I also colored in the flowers. Using the masking technique, I cut out the foxes from the other printed sheet and covered the colored foxes. To create the sky I used Distress ink and Oxide Broken China with a hint of Mermaid Lagoon. Using a starry night stencil from Simon Says Stamp, I created some dots stars with crackle distress paste. I also splatters some water using a fan brush and let it dry.

For the grass I used Distress Oxide Pine Needle with the Honey Bee stencil, one with a dark coat and then a lighter quote. Here’s a tip from those white empty spaces that get left behind in corners, Use a thin brush and graze it over the ink pad and lightly apply it over those areas.

Using the Heffy Doodle round stitched dies, I cut the scene. I had some leftover background die that I applied here on a white folded notecard and then adhered the image. I stamped I love you from Hero Arts stamp set.

Please join us for our monthly challenge at Clever Dexter. The information can be found over at the blog or here is a snapshot of it.
